INSIDE THE BOOK

About this book

As computing shifts toward parallel architectures and GPU acceleration, traditional approaches to data structures and algorithms must evolve. This book dives into the challenges and opportunities of modern computing, introducing readers to WebGPU and WGSL as tools for high-performance rendering and computation. Learn how to adapt classic structures like trees, graphs, and queues for parallel execution, and explore how algorithms behave in massively concurrent environments. Ideal for developers, researchers, and students aiming to stay ahead in the computing landscape.

An enjoyable and informative read

Recommended, with the caveat that it is not a gentle introduction.

I read this over a couple of weekends alongside a small side project, which turned out to be the ideal way to approach it. Some of the material is available elsewhere, but rarely presented this clearly. The balance between theory and practice is well judged; neither side dominates. Solid, and I would buy another book from this author without hesitation.

Better than I expected. Rare to find a technical book this well judged.

I picked this up after getting stuck on a project and it turned out to be exactly the right book at the right time. The examples are small enough to type out and experiment with, which is exactly what I want from a book like this. The book rewards careful reading. Skimming it would be a mistake. I have already recommended it to two colleagues and will recommend it to more.

Highly recommended

A superb guide. The examples are small but complete.

I picked this up after getting stuck on a project and it turned out to be exactly the right book at the right time. The author clearly knows the subject deeply and has thought hard about how to teach it. The author is unusually honest about where the simplifications break down, which I appreciated. An easy five stars from me. I look forward to whatever the author writes next.
