Excellent from start to finish

This is the one to get if you are serious about simulation.

I picked this up after getting stuck on a project and it turned out to be exactly the right book at the right time. I particularly liked the way the author builds up from simple cases before introducing the harder material. Some of the material is available elsewhere, but rarely presented this clearly. Some of the material is available elsewhere, but rarely presented this clearly. An easy five stars from me. I look forward to whatever the author writes next.

Solid and well-organised

A useful guide. The examples assume a particular environment, but that is fixable.

There is a particular kind of technical book that is dense without being difficult, and this is one of them. The chapters on simulation are the strongest — the examples are stripped down but complete, and I could follow along without constant guessing. I particularly liked the way the author builds up from simple cases before introducing the harder material. Some terminology is introduced without much ceremony; I had to look a few things up along the way. Recommended, with the caveat that it is not a gentle introduction.

Outstanding introduction

The clearest explanation of simulation I have come across.

This is the third book I have read on simulation this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. I found myself making notes in the margins, which is always a good sign. The author clearly knows the subject deeply and has thought hard about how to teach it. Some of the material is available elsewhere, but rarely presented this clearly. One of those books that pays for itself within the first few chapters. Highly recommended.
